What is GIS?

GIS (Gamma Iota Sigma) is the international fraternity for all aspiring risk management, insurance, and actuarial science students who want to stand out amongst other the resumes in the pile. GIS is the leader in creating student talent in the insurance industry by fostering professionalism, academic success in both pre- and post-graduation, leadership skills necessary succeed in the workplace, and by supplying the tools and support needed to achieve these.

ABOUT US

The UC GIS Gamma Chapter is the third oldest chapter in GIS which was founded in March 11, 1969. We proudly boast 100% job placement of our GIS members upon grauation and 2 CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) exam waivers as part of completing our IRM curriculum. In 2020, we were one of eight finalists - out of 24 - in the 2020 Risk Management Society's Spencer Challenge.
